Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award (2)

A few days back, I was nominated for Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award by the amazing Debby from DebbySEO. I’m deeply touched & humbled by her kind gesture. This is my second nomination for the same award this year.

For those of you, who aren’t aware of DebbySEO, please do check her blog to find the helpful tips & tricks & to know about what kind of services she offers (Search Engine Optimization is one of them). Debby is a very kind hearted & down to earth being. She would go an extra mile to help you. I happen to use her services when I decided to migrate my site/blog to another host. I couldn’t have done without her amazing help, especially when I was losing patience from time to time due to some issues, that WP couldn’t resolve. She kept her cool, calmed myself down, by assuring me that she would make my site to work, which she did. Today, Debby is more than a service provider to me & I feel very blessed knowing her.

Rules (/Guidelines):

  • Thank the person who nominated you with a link to their blog.
  • Make a post of the award (with a photo of the logo).
  • Post the rules (/guideline).
  • Ask 5-10 questions of your choice.
  • Nominate 10-30 other bloggers (or more) and notify them.
  • Follow Vincent Ehindero (to qualify for a free blog promotion and shoutout) and more blogging opportunities.

Questions from DebbySEO:

  1. Have you been wanting to install plugins, but you think $25/mo for the WordPress package is too much? Have you considered migration to a Self-Hosted WordPress blog?
I very much wanted to install plugins & some specific themes, but I couldn’t, even though I subscribed to the premium plan. Therefore, I decided to migrate my WP.com to a self hosted WP blog as I didn’t want to pay a hefty $25/month fee.
  2. Have you ever paid for SEO services, software or plugins? Which are your favorites?
SEO services & themes are my favorites. I’ve paid for the genuine SEO services (/organic growth). I’m not interested in fake followers & fake traffic.
  3. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? Which ones and how did it affect you?
I bought an audio book called Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It’s a very powerful book, teaching the value of the only moment that exists…Now. It teaches me to live in the present…than to think of what happened in the past & what’s coming in the future. Sometimes, we miss the very moment when we live in the past or speculate about future.
  4. If you could know the absolute and total truth to one question, what question would you ask?
I really don’t know. I believe in mysteries, magic & the unknown.
  5. How many friends do you have on Facebook and how many actually mean something to you?
FB number is always higher than the real number. It includes the ones, you’ve known once but you still want to be in touch (don’t ask me why). But if we talk in percentage, around 50% of them actually mean something to me.
  6. If you could ask advice from any historical figure, who would it be, and what would you ask them?
If historical figure means a politician, then it would be a waste of time. I would still not ask a question to anyone as I know, one needs to find the answers oneself. Hmm…I sound serious…
  7. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
From writing a poem to reading / commenting on WP to listening to music to watching some TV to sitting quietly & doing nothing. I make sure I get that 30 min a day….no matter whether it’s in the middle of the day or too late at night….it’s “me” time.

My nominees:

Anonymously Hal
Spirited Soul
Short Prose
alwayswithlovecat
erroneouschoices
Maple Leaves
Era
Rinum’s Blog
Anyone else who reads this post and wants to participate!

My questions for you:

  1. Do you believe things happen for a reason? Or are they simply coincidences?
  2. Is there a book that changed your life? And if so, how?
  3. Do you practice (or believe in) meditation & mindfulness or is it some hocus-pocus-bogus?
  4. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
  5. If you could go back into any period of time, what would it be?
  6. Is pain a different kind of teacher or is it simply there to pain you, to activate the pain body?
  7. Who’s your favorite singer/band?

Real Neat Blog Award

Last week I was nominated for a Real Neat Blog Award! I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart the blog & the person that nominated me: Anonymously Hal.

I feel honored & happy that people follow my blog, read my poems & at some level, connect to me. It’s my 2nd nomination in 3 years, besides the time I posted one of my poems for a competetion, just to check the temperature & I ended up in the top 3. But don’t misunderstand me, I don’t write to compete. Though, it feels great to be appreciated.

I write poems when I realize or experience something…my expressions. You can call them emotions, patterns, rollercoaster rides, sometimes a simple desire or simply an opening in me. That’s how I started my blog…to just write & share how I see & feel things. It has this great therapeutic effect on me as well. So thank you very much to each & every person who’s been reading my poems & following me. I feel comfortable opening up to you all, sharing my raw words. It’s a blessing that you can relate to me….as in I can relate to you.

As a part of the nomination requirements, I will also be nominating three blogs that I also enjoy and commenting on their page to notify them of the nomination. I will also be answering 7 questions asked by Anonymously Hal.

Three Blogs I am choosing to nominate:

eob2-Poetic Thoughts

joypassiondesire

Piyush Singh – The Perceptions Square

If you have been nominated, please answer the following questions below! (Please feel free not to participate if you do not have time or do not accept awards.)

  1. What inspires your writing?
  2. What’s your favorite food?
  3. If you could be on one TV show…what would it be?
  4. Where do you call home?
  5. What has been your greatest moment thus far in 2020?
  6. What are your three goals for 2020?
  7. What is your favorite song of all time and why?

My answers to the questions asked by Anonymously Hal:

  1. What inspires your writing? My own Trippin’ Track…myself as a person & my life, surrounded by me & my people.
  2. What’s your favorite food? I’ve turned veggie since last 3.5 yr. So basically anything vegetarian with great taste, texture & consistency would do. But if I have to pick one, then it’ll be my home made veggie lasagne. I’m a great cook (not just my ego tells me that…others do as well 😉)
  3. If you could be on one TV show…what would it be? Modern Family
  4. Where do you call home? My heart. If I’m in contact with my heart (/love), I’ll be able to create home anywhere & will create place for everyone in the family.
  5. What has been your greatest moment thus far in 2020? To come closer to my family after being hit by brain hemorrhage last November. I’m still recovering & it’s going slow & steady. Plus I’ve found some really great & genuine persons, whom I can call my friends. Both are equally my greatest momentS.
  6. What are your three goals for 2020? I) To heal myself & to leave the layer of ego aside. II) Recover from brain hemorrhage (via exercising, ergo-physio therapies, writing poems, meditation & mindfulness). III) To go back to work, start slowly & use body, mind & soul as one unit, especially when my left arm & hand aren’t fully working at present.
  7. What is your favorite movie of all time? Hindi movie – Sholay

Cheers…dear Anonymously Hal for nominating me. I’m truly honored & I whole heartedly appreciate your kind gesture. Thank you all for stopping by.
