Are you receiving any notifications?

I’m having big trouble in reaching my followers after I’ve migrated my site to a new host. I’ve been in a constant touch with both WordPress & Dreamhost (my current host & not so much of a dream come true) since last 2 months. Nothing has helped. I’ve lost over 85% of my original number of followers after migration. Over 95% of the remaining followers aren’t receiving any notifications when I publish a post. They can only read if I write a comment & they click on my name. So, I’m basically invisible.

Therefore, I would like to know if you are receiving any notifications via email and when you use WordPress app on your smart devices when I publish a new post.

This is my last attempt to check with you before I permanently close navinspoems.com & open a new site.

The “funny” part is that I don’t even know if you would read this post unless I ask each & every follower individually, just like I requested most of you to re-follow my blog after the migration.

Below is the reply from WordPress :

“In order for your subscribers to receive email notifications, they must ensure they have managed their Reader > Followed Site settings for the site in question to enable “Email me new posts” as outlined in the featured image.

As a first step, I would recommend contacting your subscribers and ensure they have toggled their Reader settings appropriately to receive notifications.”

If your notification setting is already enabled & you still don’t receive any notification, then “Houston, I have a problem…..Mayday”. If not, then I still have some hope.

Please let me know by COMMENTING on this post such that I can refer to this link when I contact WordPress next time. This post will help me in taking the decision of either keeping or shutting my current site down. I’ll of course open a new site if my current site can’t be saved.

  1. Navin, I get email notifications of your posts, and you show up in the notifications section of the WP Reader app, but your posts don’t show up in the feed of the WP Reader app like they used to.

  2. Greetings. I turned on notifications for your site when I re followed you and have been getting notifications for your posts since then. I hope the issue is resolved soon, it definitely feels troublesome to have technical issues. Peace and blessings.

    I’m receiving notifications of your posts BOTH on my email and wordpress app/account. I hope this issue resolves soon!! And if you are forced to open a new site, please do inform me, I have just followed you for a few days but I absolutely adore your poems!

    1. Also, when I open any of your posts on my reader, it asks me to go to your site to read the entire post. It maybe because you are using two hosts, I guess. But I thought it best to inform you!

  5. Hey, Navin, your posts don’t appear in the reader
    After I refollowed you, notification appears some times, sometimes very late and sometimes not at all
    I hope it resolves soon 🙂

  7. I receive email notifications of your posts, but your posts don’t show up in the WP Reader. I unfollowed and then re-followed you some minutes ago, but I still can’t find your posts In my reader.

  9. Navin, I get notifications by email. I can read your posts but I cannot comment and like them. The notification in WP do not work. If I type Navin’s poems in the reader search I can see all your post until the moment you migrated.

  13. Silly me, I did not have the notification enabled. I fixed that one in WP. Though, a while ago, I subscribed to you as well through email and have not received any notifications of your posts. This is strange. Though, I find it even more odd that I haven’t been seeing any of your posts in the WordPress Reader. I follow many bloggers that I don’t put notifications on for, and they of course still appear in my feed. As others have said, this is most likely a different issue with posts not appearing in the reader.

    I didn’t receive any notifications and I can’t see your blog posts in the WP reader either. I’ve tried following and unfollowing you but I don’t think it’s working. Don’t overworry about it and I hope this issue resolves soon.

  17. I think the issue is resolved.. Previously the link on every post was not opening to your blog.. It was showing error.. It is working fine… Though I can see the biggest loss is your followers due to this technical shift… But you are a fabulous writer… You will rebuild it…

  20. Hello Navin!

    I think I have told you this before, I do get the notifications on WP app. Can’t say about email because I turned off emails from every time a quite a while ago. Also, as others said, I can’t see your posts in the reader. While I open your post, it shows me the beginning of the post and then shows a link which directs me to your site.

    Hope this gets resolved soon and come back with a bang with your superb poems!
