Reading through the pages I felt like I was being given a glimpse into the writer’s soul. Navin has a way of expressing his innermost feelings through his rhythmic poetry.

I have recited a small verse from the poem titled “Lightning Rhymes”.

The Moment (a poem):

So here I am once again to share with you my joy
The moment I watched this reel, I was like “Oh my”
The moment I listened to this dreamy & peaceful voice
The moment I eyed these wonderfully written lines
It was a heart touching moment & truly a great surprise
My eyes then started to simply glow & drip the very shine
The moment of bliss where my heart did purely smile
You see, blessings come in several different forms & kinds
The free flow of energy in this magical deep blue sky

Reblogging – This Animal is Back

Don’t walk like this in your silky skin infront of me
Incredible
My craving for you is crawling up a mountain frenzy
Irresistible
You’re looking red hot & my eyes are burning destiny
Inflammable

Gaining your trust while I throw you with my rawness on that turf
Animal
Messing with your mind & body while I pull your messy hair
Animal
Tearing your peace in pieces while I look deep into your big eyes
Animal

Whispering my twisted words in your ears to reach your red crystal
Sensitive
Sketching on you with my sharp nails to make you whisper pain with your deep vocals
Sensual
Shaking you intensely to awaken your senses to make a connection with your crying soul
Spectacle

Biting your tender flesh slowly to calm my hunger with my hungry teeth
Oh, I feel like an animal
My lips are sticky & shaded as I taste the thick red that you’re bleeding
I think, I’m an animal
Even the wind under dark heavens of hell is howling crazy
Yeah, I’m an animal

I see you in my mirror & my lens is bleeding red visuals
Ahh, I’m so bloodthirsty animal
I see you in my shadow & I look like that fiery dragon
Wo, I’m so scary animal
I see you shattered & scattered all over my dark ground
Rahh, I’m so brutal animal
I disappear in darkness after killing your dying soul to be one with the new you & eternity
Yeah, I am that tainted & untamed animal

Here’s the full review:

“I read this in paperback. This is an unsolicited review.

I’ve been following poet Navin Manik for some time now on multiple social media platforms and for good reason. I often find myself nodding my head, ‘yeah, this guy is speaking my own heart’. Typically I am not a fan of rhyming or structured poetry, but there are a few writers out there who, I feel, do so without it feeling forced or trite. Navin is one such poet. Often it’s not that he pens this huge and powerful revelation, but instead writes through dark and light inner thoughts that I think a lot of us have. Insecurity. Treachery. Longing. Inner torment. The body’s betrayal. Dusk and dawn. Falling down. Looking to the skies above.

It’s a bit tough to choose a favorite from the stack, so I’ll share from the very first poem, the first one he ever wrote, as I understand it. “Speechless I Became” introduces us to this delightful collection with: ‘Speechless I became When I saw the glimpse of me Felt a sudden shift Paused were the thoughts Everything came to a halt Tears began to fall Soul wanted to scream Inner pain was so real Wounds wanted to heal I began to breathe…’ The introspection and subsequent personal revelation is so heartfelt and soul-rending, one has a growing sense of urgency to continue on, page after page.

The book was a great length at just about 120 pages. I like its simple cover and the description makes it feel approachable. I didn’t care for the formatting, however it may due to the nationality of origin (I am aware that different countries have different formatting and ‘rules’ for publishing). I have never purchased a book from this particular country before, so I have nothing to compare it to. But, to describe, the font was a bit large and margins a bit tight, causing it to feel almost crowded on the page. White space in a book is nearly as important as the printed word. But again, this is merely opinion and I don’t count it against the author personally. I did appreciate that I found no misspellings or odd punctuation issues, so that really helps me love this even more. I give this collection 4.25/5 stars and consider it recommended reading for those who enjoy modern metered/rhyming poetry that speaks straight to your heart.”

My poetry style:

I don’t follow any particular style…In fact, I don’t even know how many different styles exist…it doesn’t matter to me…coz poetry is about expressing in whichever manner one wants to…I simply line my rhyme when I eye the shine…that shine is the raw shine of the very moment…whatever it may offer…I listen to my heart…

I’m truly grateful to each & every one of you…for your wonderful support…for your unconditional love towards my poetry..I would only humbly ask you to buy my book if you connect with my rhymes…Lightning Rhymes…

Lightning Rhymes Review by Sinead McGuigan

I’m delighted, honoured & deeply touched by reading this heartfelt review by Sinead McGuigan (Instagram handle: @sineadmcgpoetry) of my debut book – Lightning Rhymes…My gratitude to Sinead for reading my book & writing this amazing review on Amazon…No words can describe this feeling…

I shared last time how & when I started writing poems…before that, I had never written a single line…but I do remember clearly that I would simply “sing” to myself on my way home from the train station…that 10 minutes walk…yeah, I sound best if you put noise cancellation hearing protection on 😉…I was like…”nah, it’s not me”…what I’m actually saying is that I did sense something but that’s about it…but that changed in late 2017…a state of self-realization…I felt this crazy need to write those words down…I’m sharing my very first poem below…I was like “what’s happening to me…in me”…I started writing whenever I would sense words in me…I was admitted to the hospital on 7th Nov 2019…the day I was hit by brain hemorrhage…writing poetry was all I did besides the regular therapies & a bit of chit chatting…poetry helped me…it’s therapeutic in the sense that I could express what I was going through…I even shared my poem with the nurses & therapists 😊😂…I couldn’t have made it this far without them, the municipality, my friends, colleagues, blogger friends & my own will to live…and most importantly, without the beautiful support & love from my family…7th Nov 2021 was my conscious choice to publish my debut book…coz it’s the date of my rebirth…

I’m truly grateful to each & every one of you…for your wonderful support…this book was my dream & it would’ve remained that way if you were not there to show your love…I would only humbly ask you to buy my book if you connect with my lines…if you wish to read my rhymes…Lightning Rhymes…

Reblogging – The Devil’s Face (video)

I’m republishing my old poem – The Devil’s Face in a new form….Every single element of this video is created by myself….poem, photo, piano (well, hitting the keys), special effects etc….I’m simply experimenting & at the same time, connecting with the I in me….

Look beyond the gory imagination to sense the essence.

This is an excerpt of my original post – The Devil’s Face, that I published on 21/09/2019: It’s my poem of horrors if you simply read the words. But if you dig deeper, it’s not about the blood bath. It’s about showing the real face, which we tend to hide to give the fake appearance of looking happy & great. To me, it’s not a scary poem, it’s a sacred one – a different art form.

A Poem: Unmask

I often find myself caught
In the middle of my thoughts
When I sit in the dark
I then take heavy shots
At my cage full of spots

When I stare at burning stars
It feels as if I’m a frozen dot
I’m restless on my ground
The tears then I freely drop
From the eyes of my heart

The waves & the shocks
The flash & the sparks
I rise then I fall
My flesh bleeds when I walk
The pain speaks to me loud

The chains cut my song
The layers I then rip apart
The patterns hit me hard
The disc cracks & it parts
The track trips my path

I scratch scars with my claw
My demons in me freely crawl
I’m hungry but I simply starve
So I scream & then I roar
I’m this wild animal so raw

I’m imperfect full of flaws
My ink leaks as I jot
My poetry isn’t just the art
It’s my life that I prompt
It’s my soul that I unmask

—– Unmask —–

Unmask is a poem about being naked; being real with my thoughts & emotions. I don’t believe in hiding my face (/phase) & it simply doesn’t matter how I look coz I’ve finally come to know who I am. I often find myself caught in these thoughts that why people need to fake it. Is it to please others or is it about living in self-denial? It doesn’t mean, I don’t try to work hard on myself to be the better version & to simply evolve. It’s about being transparent & real about how I really sense & feel from my pov.

This Animal is Back

This poem is about the wild animal in me, who’s attracted to another “animal” – the rage mixed with pain and sensuality mixed with deep & raw side. Have you never felt like this animal?

I’m finally back after almost a month’s break. I was busy updating my site with the help of DebbySEO. I won’t be exaggerating if I say Debby is very professional, knowledgeable, very kind & always ready to help. Please do check her blog.

A Poem: Longing

Picturing you laying by my side
While we hold each other so tight
The smell of your hair & skin
Draws me even closer to you with a blink
The tender touch on your pretty face
Makes you smile with that haiz
The deep ocean in your beautiful eyes
The sacred connection of our beating hearts
The souls are doing most of the talk
But I know your voice is sweet & warm
The bodies start burning immensely hot
When I press my lips against the soft lips of yours
The sensual feeling to move & dance
When you put me into the loving trance
The way you breathe in that very moment
Truly spiritual at a deeper level
You lay your head gently on my chest
And we drift away in the mysterious mist
The universe stands still in total awe
When our bodies melt together into one
You are so close to me in sense perception
And yet so far away from a different dimension
The longing to be with you is just not some crazy dream
If I cut open my chest, you’ll see how I bleed without a scream
You’re a blessing with a formless form
That I cherish from dusk til dawn
