I am delighted to share this incredible poetry book “Lightning Rhymes” by the very talented writer Navin Manik @navinspoetry_
Reading through the pages I felt like I was being given a glimpse into the writer’s soul. Navin has a way of expressing his innermost feelings through his rhythmic poetry.
I have recited a small verse from the poem titled “Lightning Rhymes”.
Thank you Navin for sharing your talent with the world.

“Navin reveals himself to the reader, through at times, visceral, sensual, and enlightened verse. He’s a romantic, a self aware demon, a passionate poet, who lives his lines and takes you along with him. His rhyme scheme, rhythms and content, captivate the reader from the start. I enjoyed the juxtaposition of his table of contents..The almost school-boy romantic in love with eyes, curves and depth..and then the man who struggles, against insomnia and his own nightmares that live inside…even in bright daylight. The book is fascinating on all these levels and it’s honest, almost innocent at times and raw.
In Navin’s own words: “My poetry is the flow in me & it’s the soul I simply set free”
His flow is a raging river with quiet pools and always clear depths. I recommend ” Lightning Rhymes” to anyone who gets excited about poetry. I promise you, this book will do that to you… and it will make you ponder.”
I’m truly grateful to each & every one of you…for your wonderful support…for your unconditional love towards my poetry..I would only humbly ask you to buy my book if you connect with my rhymes…Lightning Rhymes…
I’m delighted & honoured by reading this wonderful review by Tara Caribou, of Raw Earth Ink of my debut book – Lightning Rhymes…My gratitude to Tara for reading my book & writing an in depth review on Amazon & goodreads…I don’t think I would ever be able to express how it feels…I’m sharing this review…my joy with you all…
“I read this in paperback. This is an unsolicited review.
I’ve been following poet Navin Manik for some time now on multiple social media platforms and for good reason. I often find myself nodding my head, ‘yeah, this guy is speaking my own heart’. Typically I am not a fan of rhyming or structured poetry, but there are a few writers out there who, I feel, do so without it feeling forced or trite. Navin is one such poet. Often it’s not that he pens this huge and powerful revelation, but instead writes through dark and light inner thoughts that I think a lot of us have. Insecurity. Treachery. Longing. Inner torment. The body’s betrayal. Dusk and dawn. Falling down. Looking to the skies above.
It’s a bit tough to choose a favorite from the stack, so I’ll share from the very first poem, the first one he ever wrote, as I understand it. “Speechless I Became” introduces us to this delightful collection with: ‘Speechless I became When I saw the glimpse of me Felt a sudden shift Paused were the thoughts Everything came to a halt Tears began to fall Soul wanted to scream Inner pain was so real Wounds wanted to heal I began to breathe…’ The introspection and subsequent personal revelation is so heartfelt and soul-rending, one has a growing sense of urgency to continue on, page after page.
The book was a great length at just about 120 pages. I like its simple cover and the description makes it feel approachable. I didn’t care for the formatting, however it may due to the nationality of origin (I am aware that different countries have different formatting and ‘rules’ for publishing). I have never purchased a book from this particular country before, so I have nothing to compare it to. But, to describe, the font was a bit large and margins a bit tight, causing it to feel almost crowded on the page. White space in a book is nearly as important as the printed word. But again, this is merely opinion and I don’t count it against the author personally. I did appreciate that I found no misspellings or odd punctuation issues, so that really helps me love this even more. I give this collection 4.25/5 stars and consider it recommended reading for those who enjoy modern metered/rhyming poetry that speaks straight to your heart.”
My poetry style:
I don’t follow any particular style…In fact, I don’t even know how many different styles exist…it doesn’t matter to me…coz poetry is about expressing in whichever manner one wants to…I simply line my rhyme when I eye the shine…that shine is the raw shine of the very moment…whatever it may offer…I listen to my heart…
I’m truly grateful to each & every one of you…for your wonderful support…for your unconditional love towards my poetry..I would only humbly ask you to buy my book if you connect with my rhymes…Lightning Rhymes…
I’m delighted, honoured & deeply touched by reading this heartfelt review by Sinead McGuigan (Instagram handle: @sineadmcgpoetry) of my debut book – Lightning Rhymes…My gratitude to Sinead for reading my book & writing this amazing review on Amazon…No words can describe this feeling…
I shared last time how & when I started writing poems…before that, I had never written a single line…but I do remember clearly that I would simply “sing” to myself on my way home from the train station…that 10 minutes walk…yeah, I sound best if you put noise cancellation hearing protection on 😉…I was like…”nah, it’s not me”…what I’m actually saying is that I did sense something but that’s about it…but that changed in late 2017…a state of self-realization…I felt this crazy need to write those words down…I’m sharing my very first poem below…I was like “what’s happening to me…in me”…I started writing whenever I would sense words in me…I was admitted to the hospital on 7th Nov 2019…the day I was hit by brain hemorrhage…writing poetry was all I did besides the regular therapies & a bit of chit chatting…poetry helped me…it’s therapeutic in the sense that I could express what I was going through…I even shared my poem with the nurses & therapists 😊😂…I couldn’t have made it this far without them, the municipality, my friends, colleagues, blogger friends & my own will to live…and most importantly, without the beautiful support & love from my family…7th Nov 2021 was my conscious choice to publish my debut book…coz it’s the date of my rebirth…
I’m truly grateful to each & every one of you…for your wonderful support…this book was my dream & it would’ve remained that way if you were not there to show your love…I would only humbly ask you to buy my book if you connect with my lines…if you wish to read my rhymes…Lightning Rhymes…

I won’t ask you to show some love by simply buying my book…coz you’ve already been showing so much love towards my poetry…towards me…I had never dreamt that you – my readers would connect with my poetry…I started writing my lines just for myself back in late 2017…an outlet I found when something clicked in me…when I finally saw a glimpse of myself…my journey of writing poetry started from that point of time…words can’t express how grateful I am to each & every one of you for your wonderful support…I would only humbly ask you to buy my book if you connect with my lines…if you wish to read my rhymes…Lightning Rhymes…

I’ll be sharing another heartfelt review within a week.
So if I simply write this to you Would you read it? Would you get what I mean? Eye me explicitly Tear me tenderly Drop me dramatically Wet me whimsically
I’m dreaming in this dream You are with me Soulful touches Body heat Wet lips Intense eyes One heart
Yeah, it surely is a dream Coz I can only see me in reality Empty touches Body scream Dry lips Soft eyes Broken heart
Is love only related to a relation with another human? Is love about feeling, touching & kissing? Is love about missing, longing & meeting? Is love about losing, sacrificing & winning? Is love conditional, seasonal & situational? Answers I already have coz I know its true meaning
But tonight I’m missing the heat Tonight I don’t want to really see My craving to kiss like crazy And look in the beautiful eyes so deep Touch the gentle skin tenderly Forget the world & all those what ifs
But the emptiness in me Is choking me very slowly My throat is dry & heavy My soul is grey & rainy This moment my body is shivering Coz I’m feeling once again very lonely
Vulnerability at its peak Soon I won’t be able to speak Caged in these feelings like a freak Running around in circles to be free Closing my eyes to find the inner peace But eyes are constantly dripping beads
Yeah, it truly was just a dream I’m sitting in my room not able to sleep It’s time to listen to my favorite playlist Before I sink into my loneliness a few more feet I’m in tears but I just don’t want to scream Weak & in pain I can be coz I too am a human being

Implore
The breaths I take The steps I sway When I dance on my feet My ground is change
The heights I stare The case is space The light has shades The dark isn’t just pain
I see the sane When I saw the chain I tear the deep When I drop the waves
The colours I blend The Universe I paint The eyes then glare The divine through pen
I expand upon an inner sense of personal justice social soul well meant
I know I know the ability for personal growth
is well rooted deep within, for every passing second my efforts are tirelessly sown,
my chest expands my heart, it flows rich with breath, mighty effort stallion-like strength – continuous insistence, and sound temperament.
our steps in time pirouetting groundwork yours and mine
our knowledge together brought closely in life we stare down the precipice and soar, divine,
unknowingly yet aware we become entwined intent and more this World we explore
for reaching our Universe’s heights sights and sounds enriching our abilities our minds implore.
Violin track & artwork by Lauren and video & sound editing by myself.
